Child Health Clinic - every Wednesday 13:00 - 15:00 at the Children’s Centre, Victoria Park, Bideford.

Childhood Examinations & Immunisations - every Friday, unless stated otherwise with the practice nurses between 14:00 - 16:30. By appointment only. The practice runs a comprehensive infant and pre-school immunisation programme, in liaison with the Public Health Nursing Team.

Family Planning - a clinic is available at the surgery on Thursday afternoons between 14:00 - 17:30 by appointment with specialist family planning nurse Linda Buckland. Linda is supported by Dr Rousseau who is also available to discuss family planning matters by appointment.

Services provided include: advice on contraceptive pills, the mini-pill, coils, injections, diaphragms/caps, condom advice, coil insertion, male & female sterilisation, emergency contraception, pre-pregnancy and pregnancy advice, general sexual health advice and cervical smears. We also offer telephone consultations with Linda. All the doctors and the nurse practitioner are trained to provide general family planning advice.

Hospice Care Team - The hospice care team for the Torridge area consists of Annie Hogg, Jean Penny and Cate Heywood. The Hospice team offers advice on pain and symptom control, emotional and spirtual support, practical support and support for family and loved ones.

Maternity Services & Pre Conceptual Care - antenatal clinic on Tuesday from 13:00 with midwife.

Minor Operations - Dr Buckland holds a minor operations clinic weekly and most GPs offer minor operation appointments - when you are listed for a procedure your name will be added to the waiting list and we will liaise with you about a date.

NHS Health Checks - We are offering free NHS Health checks to patients aged between 40 - 75 by invitation only. The check is to assess your risk of developing heart disease, type 2 diabetes, kidney disease and stroke.

Over 75 health checks - If you are aged 75 or older you are entitled to an annual health check with your GP.

Polyclinics - Most long-term conditions need regular monitoring and, to help streamline treatment, we have initiated a ‘polyclinic’.  If you vaccination11have more than one condition, you will be called each year during your birth month, to be seen for 20 minutes by the Healthcare Assistant for a lifestyle check and then for a 20 minute review by a doctor.  This will give you the opportunity to discuss any problems or concerns you may have regarding your conditions.

Respiratory Clinics - Held by our practice nurses.

Safeguarding Children - Primary Healthcare Team members are well placed to identify children and young people who may be at risk and have a professional duty to act to safeguard their welfare. All staff work within the NHS Devon safeguarding procedures.

Shingles Vaccinations - this will be available for patients aged 70,71,72,78 or 79 years old before the 01.09.15.

Terminal Care - The hospice care team offers advice on pain and symptom control, emotional and spiritual support, practical support and support for family and loved ones. Your doctor will discuss options for referral to the Hospice as part of your care.

Vasectomy - Dr Buckland carries out vasectomy's. Please speak to your GP for a referral.
